You’re Welcome Here.

Here’s your big hearty “Welcome IN!” Just imagine I’m hurrying over to open the door with a big cheesy grin on my face, almost in tears, because that’s certainly what my face looks like today!

The grin,

The tears,

Because I wasn’t sure something like this would ever happen to me.

A professional.

A business owner.

I had stuck myself in a box. One labeled “just a stay-at-home-mom” or “hobbyist

Then it all changed.

Maybe it was the world that changed or maybe it was my heart.

Oh it was certainly my heart.

I’ve often called photography my “full-time hobby”. I’ve spent years & years studying all the books, consuming the classes, camera in hand every day. I have learned so much head knowledge on light, composition & camera settings, but the internal growth far outweighs the technical side.

Looking though a camera, is where I learned about myself.

I dug deep to learn I am easily overstimulated, but the mere act of placing a camera in my hand separates my mind from the stress of the moment so that I can see the scene in front of me with new grateful eyes.

And then the editing, it’s an act of savoring life. When I study an image on my computer, I notice what I didn’t see in the moment: the sly smile in the corner, the tear squeezed out from a big laugh, the blanket they only grab when they’re sad tightly between the fingers. This is where I take the time to give thanks for the subtleties of life.

You see it was never about taking a pretty photo at all. For me photography & filmmaking is a practice of slowing down and savoring life.

Well thank you for stopping by! I hope you’ll stop in often to tell a story & hear one too. I want to serve you well.

For starters, why don’t you look here. I wrote this for you! I know you take a lot of snaps of your family & wonder how to make them….more something, maybe you can’t put your finger on it, but let me help. I want to help you transform your daily photos of life into a more meaningful documentation of life to look back on forever. I’d be honored to walk by your side on this journey!
