Share YOUR Story. | How does your family connect?

Our schedules are full & our lives are loud.

Each day the family scatters like dandelion fluff in the wind. The schedules of life disconnect us.

Even in a close-knit family the workdays & school hours, the practices & meetings make the people we love disjointed.

So how can we make scattered lives land together again?

What are the rhythms that bring your family back together?

I struggle in this space. How about you?

I don’t want us to all feel like we’re all wrestling on our own. I want to offer a soft place to fall where we can talk through the difficulties of life & not have to pretend there are no flaws.

That’s where YOU come in, I need your help!

I would LOVE to hear your unique routines for family connection, big or small. I want us to share our stories so we can give each other ideas to build acts of intentional connection & SAVORING LIFE into our daily routines.

Why is this so important??

After a Family Film Session, a mama sent me this message and it changed how I lived:

“The film session was the perfect reason for us to abandon all else and just soak up much needed quality time as a family. We literally spent three hours just playing with our kids, without any distractions, led completely by their fun-loving hearts and it was the most restful thing we have done in a really long time! It felt like a Sabbath rest, sacred time as a family to enter the worlds of our precious boys and give them all of our love and attention. I SOBBED watching our video. It’s perfect. Thank you isn’t enough.”

A Sabbath Rest.

This is so much more than a pretty picture, it’s a sacred act of entering a family’s space to give them the gift of time to connect without distraction. This is a reminder to look each other in the eyes to see & know the people who you love dearly.

This is an act of committing goodness & beauty into memory….for we are forgetful people.

You & ME, we have to build rhythms of intentional time into our days to connect with our families so we REMEMBER what is important.

Ok I’m going to start, but then it’s your turn,

“The space after dinner is one of the (almost) daily rhythms my family holds sacred. The dishes don’t quite need scrubbed & our loud home lowers to a low roar. We linger at the table. We light candles, read a little & talk about our hearts & dreams, hard moments & how to make the world a little brighter. Oh sure there’s a burp & some bickering mixed in there too (that’s certainly a part of being a family too), but this time at the table is a regular Sabbath margin desperately needed to refuel our weary souls. It’s a sacred space to remind us of Truth and Light so darkness does not overcome our hearts. We reconnect. The dandelion fluff lands together again.”

I want to hear from you!

I’m gathering stories of how families connect & I’d love to add YOURS.

The question is:

What does your family do to carve out time to connect?

It can be big or small; frequent or sporadic.

I’m not expecting anything in particular, nothing needs to be pretty, tidy, or perfect. Scribble down a quick sentence or write a whole book, I’ll be thrilled to hear from you either way!

For my heart, for your heart, let’s share our stories so we may be encouraged to SAVOR LIFE together.
